Darkman Movies: Release Order
Sam Raimi's Darkman is a dark superhero origin story that predates his work on Spider-Man by over a decade, blending horror aesthetics with comic book action. The 1990 theatrical film stars Liam Neeson as scientist Peyton Westlake, who becomes the vengeful Darkman after being brutally disfigured by mobsters.
The two direct-to-video sequels from the mid-1990s continue the story with Arnold Vosloo taking over the lead role. While these sequels maintain narrative continuity and even bring back the villain Durant for the second film, they shift toward more straightforward action fare with lower budgets and a different tone than Raimi's stylish original.
