Hercule Poirot Movies: Release Order
The complete theatrical history of Hercule Poirot spans nearly a century, featuring multiple actors and varying approaches to Agatha Christie's famous detective. From the early Austin Trevor films of the 1930s through Albert Finney's acclaimed 1974 classic to Peter Ustinov's popular series and Kenneth Branagh's recent trilogy, each era brings its own interpretation.
The films vary in tone and style: while The Alphabet Murders is comedic, most adaptations are lavish period mysteries. Each new lead actor essentially reboots the character with no narrative connections to previous eras. Note that three Poirot TV movies from the 1980s featuring Peter Ustinov are not included in this list - we don't do TV on CineSort, feel free to call us snobs.
