Indiana Jones - Watch Order: Story Timeline
Follow Indiana Jones chronologically through his adventures, beginning with Temple of Doom which is set one year before Raiders of the Lost Ark despite being released second. This order provides a slightly different narrative experience, starting with Indy's darker, more violent adventure in 1935 India before moving to his famous 1936 quest for the Ark of the Covenant.
Since the prequel connection is mainly established through title cards rather than recurring characters or significant plot references, this chronological approach doesn't dramatically alter the storytelling flow but offers purists the opportunity to experience Indy's adventures in the order they actually occurred within the fictional timeline.

Indy arrives in Venice, where he enlists the help of a beautiful academic, Dr. Elsa Schneider, along with Marcus Brody and Sallah. Together they must stop the Nazis from recovering the power of eternal life and taking over the world!
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Set during the Cold War, the Soviets—led by sword-wielding Irina Spalko—are in search of a crystal skull which has supernatural powers related to a mystical Lost City of Gold. Indy is coerced to head to Peru at the behest of a young man whose friend—and Indy's colleague—Professor Oxley has been captured for his knowledge of the skull's whereabouts.
