Mad Max Movies: Story Timeline
This chronological watch order arranges the Mad Max films based on their internal timeline rather than release date. The key difference is placing Furiosa before Fury Road, as it is a direct prequel showing Furiosa's origin story and her rise within Immortan Joe's Citadel.
While the original trilogy maintains its chronological position, keep in mind that the connections between the older and newer films are intentionally loose, with some inconsistencies that reflect George Miller's approach to the series as wasteland legends rather than strict continuity.
There is 1 other watch order available – see the link up above.
