Millennium Movies: Hollywood Films
The Hollywood adaptations of Stieg Larsson's Millennium book series offer English-language interpretations with high production budgets and international star power. David Fincher's 2011 adaptation of the first novel features Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig, bringing a distinctly American filmmaking approach to Larsson's Swedish source material.
The 2018 sequel comes along as a soft reboot with Claire Foy taking over as Lisbeth Salander, adapting David Lagercrantz's continuation of the book series rather than Larsson's original work. While these films don't maintain strict continuity with each other, they represent Hollywood's attempts to bring the franchise to broader international audiences.
