Planes Movies: Release Order
The Planes films are a spin-off of Pixar's Cars franchise, though they were produced by the now-defunct DisneyToon Studios rather than Pixar itself. The duology follows Dusty Crophopper, a crop duster with big dreams despite his fear of heights.
The first film sees Dusty competing in the Wings Around the Globe Rally against international racing competition, while the sequel shifts gears into action-disaster territory when Dusty retrains as a wildland firefighter after sustaining a career-ending injury. A third film titled Beyond the Sky was planned to explore aviation in outer space, but was cancelled when DisneyToon Studios shut down in 2018.
