Movies about Serial Killers: Essential Films
This watch list presents culturally significant, influential, and well-crafted serial killer films. From Fritz Lang's pioneering M to modern procedurals like Zodiac, these films explore the dark psychology of serial murder through various lenses.
The collection spans different approaches to the subject: investigative thrillers like The Silence of the Lambs and Se7en, character studies like Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and Monster, or stylish Italian giallo films from Mario Bava and Dario Argento.
International perspectives include the Korean masterpiece Memories of Murder and the Japanese psychological horror Cure. While some films are unflinching in their realism, others take more stylized or satirical approaches, but all offer significant contributions to understanding this dark corner of cinema.
