Silent Hill Movies: Release Order
The Silent Hill film series brings the atmospheric psychological horror of the iconic video game franchise to the screen. Director Christophe Gans' 2006 adaptation follows a mother's desperate search for her daughter in a fog-shrouded ghost town, loosely adapting the first game with stunning visuals and creature designs that captured the games' unsettling aesthetic.
Silent Hill: Revelation (2012) is a direct sequel, following the now-teenage Sharon as she returns to Silent Hill to rescue her father from a mysterious cult. While both films received mixed critical reception, they've developed a cult following among horror fans for their commitment to practical effects and nightmarish imagery.
The third film, Return to Silent Hill (2026), marks Gans' return to the franchise as a standalone adaptation of the popular Silent Hill 2 game, following a different protagonist drawn to the town by a mysterious letter.
