Taxi Movies: Release Order
The Taxi franchise originated in France as a high-speed action-comedy series about Daniel, a skilled taxi driver, and Émilien, an incompetent police officer who team up to fight crime in Marseille. Created by Luc Besson, the series became a massive European success with its blend of car chases, physical comedy, and the unlikely partnership between the street-smart driver and bumbling cop.
This release order includes all five French films plus the 2004 American remake starring Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon. The American version is completely unconnected to the French series, featuring different characters, a New York setting, and a distinctly different comedic tone. The fifth French film is a soft reboot, introducing new protagonists while maintaining connections to the original series through legacy characters.
