Vengeance Movies: Release Order
The Vengeance Trilogy represents Park Chan-wook's masterful exploration of revenge through three thematically connected but narratively independent Korean films. Each movie examines different aspects of vengeance - from desperate kidnapping to maternal fury - creating a comprehensive study of how the desire for retribution corrupts and destroys.
This complete release order watch list includes the original trilogy plus the 2013 American remake of Oldboy. While the remake attempts to recreate the shocking story for Western audiences, it's clearly inferior to Park Chan-wook's acclaimed original. The three Korean films can be watched in any order, as they share no characters or plot connections.
There is 1 other watch order available – see the link up above.
