Dracula Movies: Hammer Films
Hammer Film Productions revitalized Dracula for the color era with Christopher Lee's towering, visceral performance and Terence Fisher's Gothic sensibility. Beginning with Dracula in 1958, this series follows the Count through repeated resurrections as the Van Helsing family battles him across generations.
The nine films trace Dracula's evolution from Victorian aristocrat to modern-day menace, ending with genre-bending experiments that transplant the vampire into contemporary London and martial arts territory. These films established the visual language of vampire cinema - Gothic castles, heaving bosoms, and rivers of bright red blood. Note that The Brides of Dracula continues the Van Helsing storyline with vampires in Dracula's tradition, but the Count himself does not appear.
