Dune Movies: Villeneuve Films
Denis Villeneuve's modern adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune takes a different approach from Lynch's 1984 version by splitting the first novel into two films, allowing for deeper character development and more faithful representation of the source material. Dune introduces Paul Atreides and the desert planet Arrakis, while Dune: Part Two completes the story of Paul's transformation and rise to power.
Villeneuve's films form a cohesive, narratively connected duology that tells one continuous story in chronological order. This watch list excludes Lynch's 1984 version entirely, focusing on the modern interpretation that earned both critical acclaim and commercial success.
There is 1 other watch order available - see the link up above.
