Jaws Movies: Release Order
The Jaws franchise begins with Steven Spielberg's 1975 masterpiece that defined the summer blockbuster, then follows the Brody family through three sequels that struggle to recapture the original's magic. Jaws 2 maintains direct continuity with Chief Brody returning to face another shark threat four years later on Amity Island.
Jaws 3-D shifts focus to Brody's sons at a SeaWorld-style theme park with several timeline inconsistencies. Jaws: The Revenge then ignores the events of Jaws 3-D entirely and creates further continuity errors. While all four films connect through the Brody family lineage, only the first two maintain tight narrative coherence - the franchise essentially splits into diverging timelines after that point.
