The Muppets Movies: Release Order
The Muppets theatrical films span over three decades, with each movie functioning more as a performance or new adventure rather than following strict continuity. Created by Jim Henson, the franchise began with three films about the Muppets pursuing show business success: The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Muppets Take Manhattan.
Following Henson's death in 1990, the franchise continued with two adaptations of classic stories before returning to contemporary settings with Muppets from Space. After a twelve-year theatrical absence, The Muppets (2011) successfully revived the franchise under Disney ownership (acquired in 2004), followed a few years later by Muppets Most Wanted.

The Muppet Movie
Kermit the Frog leaves his swamp to pursue stardom in Hollywood, meeting his future Muppet friends along the way while being pursued by a frog-leg restaurant owner.

The Great Muppet Caper
Kermit and Fozzie travel to London as newspaper reporters to investigate a jewelry theft involving a wealthy fashion designer, while Kermit falls for Miss Piggy who becomes wrongfully suspected of the crime.

The Muppets Take Manhattan
After graduating from college, Kermit the Frog and the Muppets head to New York City with dreams of taking their musical revue to Broadway. They soon discover that finding a producer willing to back a show starring a frog and a pig is harder than expected.

The Muppet Christmas Carol
The Muppets retell Charles Dickens' classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly man who learns the true meaning of Christmas through visits from three ghosts. This beloved adaptation combines Dickens' timeless story with the humor and heart of Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the entire Muppet gang.

Muppet Treasure Island
Young Jim Hawkins and his friends embark on a swashbuckling adventure to find pirate treasure, but discover that some of their crew members have their own sinister plans.

Muppets from Space
When Gonzo discovers he may be descended from aliens, his attempts to make contact result in his capture by a secret government agency, leading the Muppets on a rescue mission to save their friend.

The Muppets
When the Muppets discover their beloved theater is facing demolition, they must reunite to put on a fundraising show to save their home. With help from a sympathetic human and his puppet brother, Kermit and the gang attempt to raise the money they desperately need.

Muppets Most Wanted
While on a grand world tour, The Muppets find themselves wrapped up in a European jewel-heist caper involving a Kermit look-alike and his criminal accomplice.
