Robert Langdon Movies: Release Order
The Robert Langdon film series follows Harvard professor of religious symbology Robert Langdon, portrayed by Tom Hanks, as he deciphers ancient codes and uncovers world-shaking secrets. Directed by Ron Howard, these globe-trotting thrillers blend art history, religious iconography, and conspiracy theories into propulsive mysteries.
While based on Dan Brown's bestselling novels, the films were produced in a different order than the books were published. The cinematic series begins with The Da Vinci Code, then backtracks to adapt Angels & Demons (actually the first Langdon novel), before concluding with Inferno. Despite this reordering, the films work as a chronological narrative experience, with each adventure taking Langdon to iconic locations, where he must race against time to prevent catastrophe.
