The Strangers Movies: Original Timeline
This watch order focuses on the original continuity of The Strangers that began with Bryan Bertino's 2008 film. The first film introduces the three masked strangers and their terrifying home invasion tactics, while the 2018 sequel follows a different family encountering the same killers a decade later.
The two films share a universe and maintain the mystery of the killers' identities and motivations. Both emphasize atmosphere and dread over explanations, staying true to the original film's philosophy that sometimes evil needs no reason.
