I Know What You Did Last Summer Movies: Release Order
The I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise helped revitalize the slasher genre in the late 1990s alongside Scream, both penned by screenwriter Kevin Williamson. The original film stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr. as teens haunted by their deadly secret and pursued by a hook-wielding Fisherman.
After the 1998 sequel continued Julie and Ray's story, the 2006 direct-to-video entry introduced an entirely new cast in a standalone tale. The franchise then went dormant for nearly two decades before the 2025 legacy sequel brought back Hewitt and Prinze Jr. to mentor a new generation facing the Fisherman's wrath, ignoring the 2006 film.
