King Kong revolutionized special effects with Willis O'Brien's stop-motion animation and remains one of the most influential films in cinema history. The Son of Kong followed just nine months later, focusing on the aftermath of Kong's rampage and introducing a smaller, friendlier ape believed to be Kong's offspring.
