The Hills Have Eyes Movies: Modern Timeline
The 2000s remake timeline revitalized the Hills Have Eyes franchise with Alexandre Aja's intense 2006 reimagining and its 2007 sequel. Aja's remake earned strong reviews from horror fans for its unflinching violence and impressive production design.
The 2007 sequel, co-written by Wes and Jonathan Craven, takes a different approach by following National Guard trainees sent to eliminate the mutants rather than another stranded family. While not as well-received as Aja's remake, it's considerably better than the 1985 original sequel and offers a more action-oriented take on the desert cannibal premise.
