Universal Monsters Movies: Mummy Films
The Mummy brings ancient Egyptian horror to Universal's classic monster franchise. In this watch order we list all classic Mummy films - if you're interested in modern interpretations, check out the Mummy Universe.
Boris Karloff stars in the atmospheric 1932 original as Imhotep, establishing the Mummy's cinematic legacy. The series then shifts focus to the mummy Kharis, played primarily by Lon Chaney Jr., across The Mummy's Hand and its direct sequels. Unlike Universal's other major monsters, the Mummy remained in its own self-contained series without crossovers, until finally meeting Abbott and Costello in 1955.
