Wizarding World Movies: Fantastic Beasts Films
The Fantastic Beasts trilogy is a prequel series to the Harry Potter saga set in the 1920s and 1930s, focusing on Newt Scamander and the rise of the dark wizard Grindelwald. These films explore the earlier history of the wizarding world and provide background for events referenced in the Harry Potter series.
The trilogy stands as its own story arc, although it remains incomplete because it had originally been planned as a five-film series. The three released films chronicle the escalating conflict between Grindelwald and those who oppose him, including a young Dumbledore.
